Pictorialism was the excepted form of fine art photography starting in the late 1800s.   It was created by using soft focus lens and dark room manipulation to fashion soft, simple images that generally lacked detail. Strong compostion was the main goal.   Pictorialism fell from popularity in early 1930s in favor of a new movement of sharply focused images refered to as Modernism.  

I have tried to follow the pictorialist  style but added my own twist.  While my images follow the rule of soft focus, I alway leave one or more points within the image that remain sharp, allowing the viewers eye a place  to rest.  I refer to this style as "Neo Pictorialism."
